The Final Countdown

Finals.

The word alone can make any college student cringe. As the spring semester draws to a close, it is time for most students to buckle down and prepare for those infamous exams.

We should all know by now that a caffeine-induced, all-nighter on the eve of a test is a risky situation and that early preparation is key.

The news that police departments around the country are using Twitter to inform and alert the public, at first glance, may chill the blood of any self-respecting conspiracy theorist. Orwellian visions of a technologically advanced society, doomed to spy on its self arise with the reality of instant communication between a population and it's law enforcement.

People looking down on the younger millennial generation think that we are becoming incompetent gadget mongers.
Almost 6,744 miles have been traveled from hometowns to the baseball field at Kirkwood Community College. Athletes on the team said they came for two main reasons: Academics and to play the one game they love.

Though some said it was a hard transition, they have been able to discover who they are as individuals, students and athletes while living on their own here in Iowa.
