There's no need to say cheese to these Kirkwood Community College culinary arts students to get them to smile. Winning a silver medal on Friday, April 2, at an American Culinary Federation-approved regional contest in Chicago has them grinning ear to ear. Meghan Oglesby, Mary Frei, Jared Kvinglaug-Lewis and Michael Lessmeier prepared dishes and made several precision cuts within 75 minutes under the watchful eye of the judges while Connie Kokontis worked organizing, supporting the team and delivering plates to the judges.
