New bookstore brews fresh start

Facility offers new and expanded services

Kirkwood Community College's old bookstore was small and cramped and it was difficult for students to find the books they needed for classes. That's all changed now. At the beginning of August Kirkwood opened a new bookstore located in Benton Hall. Klieman Construction started the project in July 2004.

Increasing enrollment forces bond issue

With enrollment spiking at Kirkwood Community College for the fifth consecutive year, the college has been forced to take additional steps in order to finance its capital needs. A bond issue, whose approval will be in the hands of voters throughout the seven-county region on Tuesday, Sept.

International students fulfill dreams at KCC

Over the past 25 years, Kirkwood Community College has been hosting international students from various countries around the world. The International program at Kirkwood started four years after the college was founded. In the early 1970s, KCC hosted the first two international students and since then, the number of international students has increased.
