Thirty-four students studying a variety of disciplines will take part in a three credit hour travel opportunity to Rome over an eight-day span during winter break from Dec. 27 to Jan. 3. The credits for the class will go toward fulfilling English requirements.

The formal deadline for signing up for the program has passed but instructor of Distance Learning and Program Coordinator Jed Peterson said, "We can accept another six or seven students," Students who sign up now will incur a late fee of approximately $50.

The basic program fee is $1,420. That money provides round-trip airfare, seven overnight stays, daily breakfast and dinner and eight sightseeing tours. There is also a $700 scholarship available to eligible students to put toward the cost of the program.

Students interested in the program can contact Peterson at (319) 398-5899 ext. 5920 or e-mail him at jed.peterson@kirkwood.edu.
