Firefighters get schooled in new procedures

Firefighters flooded the Kirkwood main campus on Sept. 24 and 25 for the 19th annual Central Iowa Training Association (CITA) Kirkwood Fire School. About 125 fire science instructors were present to keep firefighters up-to-date and well-trained in the increasingly technologically advanced field.

Eagles come to the plate with two new assistants

For Mike Brunner, Kirkwood Community College is like a second home. For Jay Whannel, it's new territory. Head Baseball Coach John Lewis will open the fall season with two new assistant coaches. Brunner and Whannel will fill the positions of former assistants Adam Sadler and Mike Clement.

Intramural sports keep students fit and competitive

17 activities offered through the college

As young people enter college, many go from being active athletes to inactive students. In recent years, Kirkwood Community College has attempted to remedy this problem with an active intramural sports program. A total of 17 activities are offered through the intramural program.

Once again Homer gives idiots and imbeciles everywhere an excuse to be stupid. Lately, when watching sports, I've seen a shocking development take place - the fans are becoming ruder, more disruptive and more idiotic.
