A foreign influence on crude oil

Like many domestic issues, the debate over high crude oil prices has an international dynamic that leads to a controversial aspect of foreign policy. That dynamic, not surprisingly, derives from two areas in the world that Americans and government officials have both historically and recently had their eyes on: China and the Middle East.

Where did we come from? In our primarily Anglo-Saxon society, we're told that God created the earth and everything that exists on it. Children are taught this concept and even if it isn't through church, most children have heard it and believe that God created this world.

Harriet Who?

After the overwhelming confirmation of Chief Justice John Roberts, President George W. Bush selected his second Supreme Court nominee, his one-time personal lawyer Harriett Miers. Miers' confirmation for the bench will prove to be a tougher battle than Roberts' was, because of her qualifications.
