Cedar Rapids offers array of events during holiday season

The holiday season is here once again, a time each person observes in their own way.
Cedar Rapids has many events to entertain a person of any age or religion during the month of December.
Brucemore, located at 2160 Linden Drive SE, will hold a holiday tour of flowers, ornaments and twinkling lights from Nov. 25 through Dec. 31. The tours begin every hour between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 3 p.m. on Sundays.
Along with the tour, Brucemore will offer a "Santa, Snacks and Stories" event for kids. The fun includes storytelling in the nursery, crafts and an interactive theatre performance. Santa will be present to visit with boys and girls. Admissions and reservation information for these two events can be found at Brucemore's Web site at www.brucemore.com.
Tannenbaum Forest, located at 622 46th Avenue, Amana, will offer a "Prelude to Christmas." The stroll includes a view of a Nativity scene, storybook characters coming to life and a spectacular 16-foot, German-style Christmas Pyramid. As cold weather sets in, many people prefer to keep their holiday events indoors. Paramount Theatre, located at 119 Third Ave. SE, will present its "Holiday Pops: Winter Wonderland" this holiday season with the Cedar Rapids Symphony, performing holiday classics like Schubert's "Ave Maria," "Winter Wonderland," "Sleigh Ride," "Halleluiah Chorus" from Messiah and excerpts from The Nutcracker.
