Kirkwood student media bags six ICMA awards

College media groups from around the state met in Des Moines for the Iowa College Media Association's annual convention on Feb. 2-3. The 2005 Better Student Newspaper Contest Awards Ceremony was held at the Downtown Marriott. Students and instructors involved in campus media gathered at the convention and awards ceremony.
The Communiqué and Kirkwood Student Productions sent several students and instructors to the convention to accept awards. The Communiqué was honored with four awards and KSP received two.

Second Place - Best Page 1
Third Place - Best Online Edition

First Place - Best Sportscasting, "Kirkwood vs. Iowa Lakes" Play-by-Play: Will Marchino, Color Commentary: Nick Lindaman
Second Place - Best Newscast, "KSP News" Producers: Nick Snavely and Josh Rinderknecht
