As technology advances and bass overwhelms the music industry, the question has arised: Can you feel the bass?
There is an ongoing debate about the appropriate volume of car stereos. Some people believe that enough bass is when the whole neighborhood can feel it. I, however, feel that a simple back massage is satisfying enough.
Many people are spending hundreds and thousands of dollars on amplifiers and subwoofers so they can have the loudest bass.
Is it loud enough when the car next to you is shaking from pure bass vibrations? Or how about when you pull into school and you disrupt classes from the front seat of your car.
I am not saying that having a decent system in your car is a bad
idea, I own one myself. What I am saying is that it can be a public disturbance. Cedar Rapids has a law against the volume of the music within your car. Between the hours of 5 a.m. and 10 p.m. people can play music as loud as they choose. However if a police officer pulls up next to you and your radio is louder than theirs, they have the authority to ticket you due to the fact that you are disrupting their.
Playing music too loud in your car is like having an out of control party. If the neighbors can't handle it they will make sure the police can.
I believe police are not the only ones to worry about when facing the volume of your music. Many students lose what junk they have in their trunk because they play it too loud. Others who hear it may just up and steal it. When you have the bass, sometimes you need to keep it on the down low.
Summer is here and so are our systems. It is the time for music and I am talking about loud music. We feel we need to rebel, so we play our music louder and louder! But be careful, you never know who is eying your subs.
