Last year's regional final loss to Des Moines Area Community College left a "bad taste in the Eagles mouth", Head Coach Doug Wagemester stated as he discussed how the season ended last year.

The men's team went 27-5 last season and won the regular season conference championship. Wagemester said he is confident and believes this year's team can do what it did last season and more.

Wagemester said he is also excited about the season and stated that the players are "a talented group that has been working during the off season." He also stated this year's schedule is the toughest one he has faced in his 10-year tenure at Kirkwood.

Coach Wagemester has five returning sophomores and an athletic core of freshmen coming in. Freshmen Joel Barkers said, " I feel positive about the season. Our team is working hard and I feel confident about coach Wagemester's decisions and coaching ability."

Throughout the month of September, the men have been conditioning, weight lifting and playing team scrimmages. The men's first home game is against Loras JV Monday, Nov. 19.
