Last year the Women's Eagles basketball team won 35 games straight, broke four school records as a team, and ended a spectacular season with a NJCAA II national championship by defeating Kankakee 84-55 at Phoenix College in Arizona.

Head Coach Kim Muhl said he is confident and ready for the upcoming season. With six returning sophomores Muhl said that they " have a much younger team than last year and expect the freshmen to grow up fast this first semester."

With a more difficult schedule than last year and having only one home game this semester, the women will have a lot to handle.

"The team will have a lot to learn this semester," said Muhl.

He also stated, "The team might start off a little bumpy but as the season progresses they will do just fine."

Lauren Thomas-Johnson, one of the six returning sophomores, said that they have strong returning players, an athletic core of committed freshmen and believes that the Eagles will win it all again.

Tryouts were held in Johnson Hall on Sept 5. The first and only home game this fall semester for the Eagles will be against AIB on Nov 7.
