According to head coach Jill Williams, even though the Eagles lost they "played aggressive every point of the match."
The first game of the match was competitive. Both teams were going point for point until the Warriors went on a six-point stretch to lead the game 21-15. At that point the Eagles could not catch up to the Warriors and lost. 30-19.
The second game picked up where the first game left off for the Warriors as they took a commanding lead over the Eagles. The Eagles had a crowd-roaring comeback in the second game as they tied it up 20-20 but the Warriors were still able to hold off the Eagles to take the game, 30-26.
The third game of the match the Warriors were determined to close out the match to eliminate any chances for the Eagles to come back. As the Eagles started to rally back from a 20-11 deficit, their aggressive play led to some unforced errors that gave the Warriors the push that they needed to take the final game of the match.
"We played Indian Hills aggressive like we had planned to do but when you play aggressive there are some errors that will follow that style of play," Williams stated.
The Eagles are 9-17 on the season and have three home games left, including Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) on Oct. 17. The DMACC game is expected to be a competitive match because on Sept. 1 the Eagles defeated the Bears in a five game match.
They have three season tournaments left; the Illinois Central Tournament and ICCAC Crossover tournament and one invitational at the Lincoln Land Invite. The volleyball team still has a month left in the regular season before regional and semi-final play begins.
