Smoothies from the C-store hard to swallow

We've all waited patiently at the C-store after forking over three hard-earned crumpled dollar bills. With straw in hand, we watch as a foamy or watery concoction is poured into a Styrofoam cup and shoved our way.

It's already apparent that it's going to taste bad and will probably be thrown away after only a few sips. Buying a smoothie at the C-store is kind of a shot in the dark. Sometimes it tastes really good, other times it's hard to swallow. Although the student workers are our peers, it's easy to get frustrated when we pay $3 for a product that is not made correctly.

The C-store needs to realize that even though these are student workers, they are still running a business. They should be trained to make smoothies correctly instead of adding in ice 30 seconds after the mix has been blending.

Some students do not have a lunch break worked into their schedule. These students rely on smoothies from the C-store to get them through until they can eat a meal.

There is nothing more irritating than if a smoothie is watered down or plagued with chunks of ice on the bottom. It's tough to be a college student and it's even tougher to manage our money.

Most students are on a tight budget and depend on extra cash from their parents. It's just ridiculous to spend money on something that should taste good but ends up being thrown away.

The students do appreciate the C-store and all that it provides for the campus. It offers a convenient place to pick up quick snacks in between classes and a place to hang out with friends during a break. The C-store really does do a lot of good for students but the smoothies are just not one of its strong points.

To improve the smoothies the C-store could train workers before the school year begins. That way C-store staff members will have more experience and will be able to produce a product that students will want to buy.
