Once in a while, in this world of fast burgers and quick tacos there is a restaurant that stands out from the rest. One of these standouts is Leonardo's.

Leonardo's, located at 2228 16th Ave. SW, is a unique Cedar Rapids restaurant that has been serving a variety of foods for 57 years.

"We served the first and original pizza in Cedar Rapids for 57 years," owner Thad Naso, stated.

The décor is that of a 70s nightclub. With red leather seats, black pebble walls and dim lighting; one could catch "disco fever" just by stepping in the front door.

Leonardo's offers a variety of foods from their well-known pizza and cheeseburgers, to chicken strips and salads. Sandwich prices range from $5 to $8, while pizzas start at $10. They offer late night specials Monday through Thursday from 11 p.m. to close.

So if it's a Saturday night and you are sick of eating leftovers, Ramen noodles or cardboard pizza, try something different for a change. A night at Leonardo's will be well worth your time and money.

Leonardo's is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m.-1:30 a.m. and on Sunday from noon-10:30 p.m.
