Students invited to "Walk 2 The Beat"

The Iowa Region of Phi Theta Kappa is participating in "Walk 2 the Beat" a 5K Fun Walk at Westdale Mall on Saturday, Nov. 3 from 8 a.m. - noon, to benefit The Heart Connection and Children's Cancer Programs. You don't have to be a member of Phi Theta Kappa to participate! We would encourage and welcome "Anyone and Everyone" from the Kirkwood Family who wants to Walk and/or Donate to be a part of this event.
"Walk 2 The Beat" is being presented by Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield and supported by Westdale Mall, 104.5 KDAT, The Cedar Rapids Jaycees/Junior Chapter, and The Cedar Rapids Gazette. Donations will go towards camper scholarships for children with cancer to attend the Oncology Camp north of Boone, Iowa this summer.
So please take a moment now to become part of TEAMIOWA and join Alpha Eta Rho, Kirkwood's Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and other Iowa Chapters raise donations for The Heart Connection.
If you are planning to Walk on Saturday Nov. 3, you must pre-register. Go to www.Walk2TheBeat.com and then to join TEAMIOWA. Follow the directions given. You may choose to raise the registration fee of $25 or pay it upfront. Simply indicate your preference and then either click through the payment page or follow the directions for paying the fee online. If you are Walking in memory of or in honor of someone, that additional fee will need to be paid in advance and can be done so at this time.
If you are unable to walk but you or others you know want to donate simply logon to http://www.firstgiving.com/teamiowa Anyone can donate online by credit card and receive a record of their donation; go to our fundraising page and click "Give Now."
All donations are secure and sent directly to The Heart Connection Children's Cancer Programs. Cash donations will be accepted however these monies will need to be dropped off at Westdale Mall during the Walk on Nov. 3. Be sure to mention you're a member of TEAMIOWA when you drop them off.
We hope that you will consider joining us in raising monies with The Iowa Region of Phi Theta Kappa and support The Heart Connection Children's Cancer Programs and this wonderful cause.
