It's about that time again-Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and Eid are just around the corner and it's time for students to start assessing their bank accounts and deciding what gifts they want to give. College students are known for being broke, however these gift ideas below may help students decide what is worth the extra money and what they should steer clear of this holiday season.
For the electronic junkies in the family, an iPod nano 4 GB comes with a one-year warranty and costs around $150. It comes in many colors and stores up to 4,000 songs. If the family member already has an iPod, one could get them some fun accessories to go with it. Does a music-loving friend have a hard time getting up in the morning? Why not get them an i.sound dream clock radio for iPod. Their iPod plugs into the alarm clock and the person awakes to their favorite music. These typically go for around $50.
Can't quite afford an iPod? CDs are always a safe bet. For those still not sure what type of music to give, try an iTunes gift certificate (for those who have an iPod) is always a good bet. These hot new tunes can all be found for around $15.
"I like getting people movies for Christmas. Especially when I know what kind of movies they enjoy," said Brittany Cavars, design technology major. Movies as usual are also hot during the holidays and this year is no exception. All new movies range from $15-$20.
So if looking for creative gift ideas, there are gifts galore that are not only high quality but that also justify the extra money spent.
