It's testing time again here at Kirkwood and we're not talking about finals. Kirkwood students walk the halls everyday on their way to class. History is all around the Kirkwood campus and most students don't know much about it. On a recent "K Walk" students were bombarded with questions specifically geared with historical facts in mind. The overall consensus reveals that the average student is lacking in the area of college knowledge. Many students missed easy questions such as "Who is the statue of in Linn Hall," and "What do the seven flags in front of Linn Hall represent."
Despite the fact that the names of all seven counties are actually on the flags themselves, some of the questions fired at students do require a small explanation from a very knowledgeable source. Kirkwood Archivist Jill Miller proved to be a valuable resource. Miller pulled out a vast ocean of Kirkwood history and explained just how far Kirkwood has come in a short 41 years.
After all is said and done and the questions have been answered, the results reveal that students need to brush up on their studies a little bit, especially by getting to know the college that they attend.
