The men's basketball team is doing "fairly well" as head coach Doug Wagemester put it. With a 20-1 record and the number two national ranking the players, as well as the coaches, have a lot of confidence in what they can do.

The number two ranked Eagles have key wins over division I teams like Southeastern, Iowa Western, Marshalltown and a triple over time thriller over Indian Hills.

"The season is going well in many ways," Wagemester stated. "Team chemistry is meshing well and with only one loss of the season I believe we're doing pretty well so far."

The Eagles are currently on top of their division with a 6-0 record against conference competition. Joel Barkers, who is the only freshman to start for the Eagles this year stated, "The season is going real good and the team is playing well right now. Throughout the season we're getting better and better and I believe that's going to help us out later in the season."

The team is averaging 81 ppg and is holding their opponents to 62.

"Not much about our game play has changed since last semester," Wagemester stated. "We're going up and we have come along way. Now that the freshmen have a semester under their belt, they have a better idea of the system and how it works."

The next home game for the mens team will be Thursday, Feb. 7 against St.Ambrose JV.
