Letters to the Editor: A snow rebuttal
Issue date: 2/14/08 Section: Opinion
I was very disappointed with the editorial in last week's Communiqué criticizing Kirkwood's snow removal efforts this winter. While the student newspaper certainly has the freedom to express a viewpoint, it should be an informed article even if it is an "editorial" stating the editor's opinion.
Our facilities staff have been very dedicated these last two months to keeping the campus as clear and safe as they possibly can during a very challenging Iowa winter and the staff of the Communiqué may want to interview Tom Kaldenberg or some of his staff about what goes into the process instead of tearing down that which they know so little about. They might learn more by showing up at 4 a.m. some cold and snowy morning and see what is involved.
This would be my opportunity to express my "opinion" that the editorial showed very poor journalism, and much less than what I have come to expect from our Kirkwood student newspaper.
