The writers strike has been settled but many television watchers are wondering when their favorite shows will return, or if they will even be back at all.
According to the Los Angeles Times online, most of the big prime time shows will be returning with new episodes this spring, others will not be so lucky.
ABC shows including "Grey's Anatomy," "Desperate Housewives," "Boston Legal," "Brothers and Sisters," "Ugly Betty" and "Samantha Who?" are already filming and expected to have new episodes this spring.
The widely popular "Grey's Anatomy" spin off, "Private Practice" will most likely not return until next season, along with "Pushing Daisies" and "Dirty Sexy Money." Shows like "Notes from the Underbelly," "Cavemen" and "Big Shots" are in jeopardy of being cancelled.
Top shows on NBC such as "The Office," "30 Rock," "Law & Order," "Law and Order SVU," "My Name is Earl," "Medium" and "ER" are likely to be back this season. Coming back next season will be "Heroes" and "Chuck." It is unknown if "Scrubs," which was filming it's final season when the strike started, "Friday Night Lights" and "Lipstick Jungle" will be back this season.
"Two and a Half Men," "How I Met Your Mother" and "The Big Bang" are CBS shows that will hopefully be returning with new episodes on March 17 with nine new episodes. The popular "Crime Scene Investigation" shows will be returning on CBS too. "CSI" will be returning on April 3 with six new episodes, "CSI Miami" will have eight new episodes starting March 24, "CSI New York" will debut April 2 with seven new episodes.
Widely popular CW shows like "Gossip Girl," "Smallville," "One Tree Hill" and "Supernatural" will hopefully be returning this Spring.
Fox is undecided whether "House" and "Prison Break" will be returning this spring.
"Entourage" and "Big Love" will not be returning on HBO until early 2009, along with FX's "Nip Tuck."
