Kirkwood Community College has its fair share of extra curricular activities for students. They range from sports groups and teams such as the Kirkwood's Eagles basketball to Soccer Club to special interest clubs such as the United Nations Student Alliance and Unity.
There are also various clubs and organizations at Kirkwood that limit membership to students majoring in certain fields such as the Animal Health Technology Club, which only allows students to join who are majoring in Animal Health.
A complete list of clubs is available for students to view on Kirkwood's Web site under the student life section. Or students can simply go to http://www.kirkwood.cc.ia.us/site/index.php?p=379 to see the complete list of Kirkwood's clubs and activities.
The page gives a list of which clubs and organizations are available along with the advisers of the listed clubs and contact information.
Students at Kirkwood have many reasons for getting involved in activities outside of classes. "I think it's important for students to get involved at Kirkwood so they feel as though they are a member of a college body. By getting connected with college faculty and students, they get more of an experience," said Nancy Sauerman, KCC Democrats adviser.
