Guys need time to bond with their newborn

When I had my son it was stressful because my husband was working. It made me question why men don't get some type of leave when a newborn has just entered his life.
I'm having our second child and I asked my doctor, "Do men get paternity leave?" He told me that if they do it's a paid vacation, and women get it because they need to bond with their baby and to heal from birth.
Men may not understand how to deal with a newborn all the time and need time to bond as well. I think that if men had about two weeks off to get use to the baby a lot of problems could be decreased in households. It's not fair that women have to deal with the stresses that accrue between them and their confused husband while having a baby to learn about as well. This added frustration is unnecessary.
Guys need to know more about the different type of cries and how to get close to their newborn, too. I believe that men need to be there equally to help out and bond better for the fathering part in the baby's life.
It would help out for a mother to get breaks and together they both grow with their child. Many fights can happen because a guy doesn't always know the cries of a baby. Women can get angry with them because they feel they don't listen or know how to deal with a baby.
Men have wonderful aspects that help out with taking care of a baby and are also there for support. They both brought this baby into the world and together should bond and nurture their child. If men had some type of leave, whether its vacation or just time off, it would make the love and bonding with a new born a wonderful time for both the father and mother.
