The Kirkwood Community College men's golf team is coming off an eighth place finish over the weekend in Wartburg. Kirkwood was the only community college out of 18 colleges competing.
The Eagles finished first at Iowa Central April 14. Despite the success, head coach Darin Pint said he thinks the team still hasn't played its best golf yet.
"The season is going well so far. It's frustrating because of the weather," Pint said.
"It's either snow, wind or rain that we've played in so far but that's what you have to deal with when playing golf," Pint said.
"Johnathan Vermeer and Ross Mclaughlin have been playing very well for us. It's a little surprising because I knew they could be good but I didn't know it would start this early," Pint said.
The next meet for the men's golf team is April 18 and 19. The meet will be at Indian Hills Community College.
