BOONE - The fourth-ranked Kirkwood Community College women's basketball team made hay bombing away from the three-point line. The Eaglesmade 11 three-pointers Feb. 10 and delivered another win at the demise of the 13th-ranked DMACC Bears, 71-66, in an ICCAC conference game in Boone.

The Eagles raised their overall record to 22-4 and stayed perfect in the conference at 9-0. This is another impressive win that extends the Lady Eagles winning streak to nine and more impressive is that they have won 19 of their last 20 games. The team’s last loss was Nov. 15.

Contributors to the victory were Caitlin Sudduth who tossed infour 3-pointers and scored 15 points for Kirkwood. Addie Oberman also hit four triples and chipped in 12 points. Madison Wood contributed 13 points and had four steals.

Deleyah Harris and Cyerra Hutchins grabbed eight rebounds to lead Kirkwood. Casey Miles collected seven caroms and led the team in assists.

DMACC fell to 20-5 overall and 6-3 in the league. Two of the three losses coming at the hands of the Eagles, as KCC completed the sweep of therival Bears from DMACC. This effort was clearly different from the 72-57 pounding the Eagles delivered to DMACC at home Jan. 13.

The women are on the final stretch of the season with a Feb. 13 home game, which is pink day. All fans are encouraged to join the team and wear pink for the battle against Southwestern CC.

Following this the women will next be home on Feb. 20 against Iowa Central CC, followed by the final home match up against North Iowa Area CC on Feb. 27 at 1 p.m. in Johnson Hall.  Sophomores will be honored as they play their last game as an Eagle.
