Baseball wins first ICCAC Conference game

After a dramatic two-run, two-out double in the bottom of the seventh inning on Saturday, sophomore Tyler Butz was swarmed by his teammates, starting off the conference tournament with style.

In a twin-bill series against Ellsworth on Saturday, Kirkwood triumphed in both games, winning 4-3 in the first game and 7-3 in the second, handing Kirkwood the victory for the ICCAC Conference opener. For both games, the Eagles held their own against Ellsworth, winning through a combination of intense focus, teamwork, and cooperation. Pitching was also strong for both games. 

According to, Head Coach Todd Rima said that "That's the strength of our team. We have a lot of depth on the mound." 

The Eagles will play Ellsworth in another double-header this Saturday at 1 p.m.
