In a intense double-header on Saturday, the Kirkwood Eagles played DMACC, winning one of two games played that afternoon.

In the first game, which saw DMACC win 6-0, the Eagles lost Sophmore Nicky Simpson after a bullpen catcher accidentally hit her in the face, causing the top pitcher to lose two teeth. Sophomore Allie Mengler took over, doing her best in the first game to hold the Eagles together against a tough opponent.

The Eagles rallied in thier second game however, winning 10-0. With the stellar victory, Coach Joe Yegge collected his 400th win. With an overall record of 400-91 after 9 years at Kirkwood, Coach Yegge and the Eagles celebrated a hard-fought victory.

Following the Saturday games, Kirkwood stands at a 25-4 record and a 3-1 ICCAC Conference record. The Eagles' next game will be today at 2:00 p.m. against Ellsworth CC, as well as a game on April 2 at Southwestern CC.
