The Kirkwood Community College baseball team had a powerful weekend against the conference foes from Iowa Central Community College.  The Eagles had to play four games versus ICCC and swept them convincingly in each game.

The Eagles won game one 11-1 dominating their opponent in every aspect of the game. Kirkwood ‘s lefty Nick Drahozal chucked a two-hit Rembrandt that only allowed a single run for ICCC while he was supported greatly by the offense.

Colin Kreiter, Matt Paciello, Brandon Brittain and General McArthur all hit homeruns in the game with other RBI contributions from Tyler Butz and McArthur.

The Eagles were just getting warmed up offensively as they won game two 11-6.  J.T. Sole was the stand out in game two by hitting a majestic home run plating three and adding another RBI later to have a four-RBI game.  Eleven seemed to be a mystical number for Kirkwood as they scored 11 runs on 11 hits and struck out 11 times all in a dominating victory.

Game three was more of the same great fortune for the Eagles as they won decisively 13-3.  Brock Neuhaus improved to 4-1 on the season throwing a solid five hit gem. Offensively Brittain led the way with four RBIs, with Kreiter, Bryce Grimm and McArthur adding two RBIs each. Fitsgerald and Brittain each went yard to propel the Eagles.

Game four was a hard fought battle that the Eagles pulled out by the score of 16-10.  The Eagles used a host of pitchers to get through this shoot out including Austin Clemens, Zach Morrisey, Dariel Checo and the eventual winner of the game Emanuel Castellano who improved his record to two wins and zero losses for the season.  Offensive stars were Sole and Brittain who both went deep again in this game with Grimm and Joey Verstegen adding to the RBI totals.

The Eagles have improved their record to 13-3 in the conference and find themselves poised at the top of the conference as they begin the stretch run culminating in the regional tournament the second week of May.
