To raise awareness for mental health, the Active Minds Club at Kirkwood Community College  sponsored a walk to help students understand they are not alone.

The walk took place on Feb. 24 at the Rec Center and was open to students, faculty and staff.

Active Minds Advisor Angie Ziesman Weiler said she wants to remind students there is free and confidential counseling on campus for students. She said counseling can benefit students in many ways.

“Individuals can gain important coping strategies and necessary life skills,”  she said.

Students interested in learning more information about Active Minds are invited to attend a club meeting. Active Minds meets on Thursdays during activity hour from 11:15 a.m. - 12:10 p.m. in 125 Iowa Hall.
