Husband and wife duo make campus debut

Midnight Noon made its Kirkwood Community College debut at Iowa Hall on March 6, to an enthusiastic crowd which was drawn to them by the group’s down home, fun loving stage presence.
Midnight Noon consists of Dave and Whitney Campbell, a husband and wife duo who play and travel together.
According to Dave, “This will be our sixth year on the road together. It started with a 40-day tour in 32 states seeing some amazing parts of the country. We feel blessed to get to travel and see our country and now parts of the world with the mission trips we have been invited on.”
Whitney explained how the group decided on their name. “It started with our friend writing a song that sang, ‘Maybe I’ll be midnight and you can just be noon.’ Then Dave woke up at 4 a.m. with a flood of ideas and Midnight Noon was at the top of the list,” said Whitney.
She added, “It represents how opposites can still be in unity. I’m midnight – I am a night owl and I’m full of energy and have a can-do determination. Dave, well, he is noon – he’s up with the birds and before the sun. He is also a self-proclaimed guitar geek who is cool, calm and has it together. “
Midnight Noon plays cover songs as well as their own. “We play whatever is put on our hearts... whether it’s country, pop, rock, gospel etc.,” said Whitney.
The group has traveled to many places across the U.S. at various venues. “We play concerts, fairs, festivals, benefit shows, weddings etc. We enjoy them all but concerts and weddings are probably the most fun,” Whitney said.
