Women's basketball plays in support of breast cancer awareness

On the day Kirkwood Community College reserved for breast cancer awareness, the women hosted Iowa Lakes and  won by a 34 points with a final score Kirkwood 71 Iowa Lakes 37.

Cassidy Clark lead the team with 20 points. She hit 8-13 field goals and 3-3 from the foul line.  She made contested lay-ups look easy utilizing her size and strength as an advantage but scored with some jumpers as well.  Her size and strength also came in handy when she grabbed 11 rebounds. 

Daniel Woolfolk used finesse being the second highest scorer of the day.  She added 11 more points to her season total.

Ariel Sneed, always consistent at her position scored 10 points, one block, one steel, one assist and four rebounds.

The margin of points off turnovers was substantial in this game. Kirkwood racked up 25 points as Iowa Lakes only managed six points.

A couple reservists that answered the call were Anna Martensen and Taylor Silva.  Martensen had seven points and two rebounds.  Silva who was also consistent scored eight points, five assists and three rebounds.

As a whole, the Eagles shot 75 percent from the free throw line.  This was an important factor in winning the game. The first round of regionals starts Mar. 4.  Their opponent is to be announced.   

The Eagles continue to keep elevating every aspect of their game as they make a run in the playoffs.
