"The World's End", the final film in Edgar Wright's Cornetto, or Blood and Ice Cream, Trilogy adds a sci-fi twist to the over-the-top comedy previously seen in "Shaun of the Dead" and "Hot Fuzz."

The film focuses on five friends who attempted a post-high school pub crawl down known as the, "The Golden Mile," featuring 12 pubs and 12 pints. However, they never finished the journey.

Twenty-three years later all of the friends have grown up except the perpetually adolescent Gary King, played by Simon Pegg("Hot Fuzz", "Shaun of the Dead"). He decides to get the gang back together and finish the epic adventure they started all those years ago.

Upon returning to the town, they discover that alien robots have replaced the townsfolk. The group decides that the only course of action is to continue their pub crawl while trying to go unnoticed.

This premise results in a bevy of great laughs. The duo of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost continue their tradition of hilarious characters and well-written comedy.

The supporting cast, including Martin Freeman ("The Hobbit") and Rosamund Pike ("Pride and Prejudice") and a hilarious cameo from Pierce Brosnan, also deliver strong performances as part of the ensemble cast.

The film embraces the inherent silliness of its premise and it gives laugh after laugh with clever one-liners and plentiful slapstick.

Fans of the trilogy will appreciate nods to the other films in fence references and wrappers from Cornetto ice creams but the movie works as a hilarious stand-alone comedy.
