10. Face it-An 8 a.m. class is going to happen. Luckily, you can look forward to being done with college someday and being a productive member of the workforce. Then, your day won't start until...Oops. 8 a.m. Sorry.

9. Contrary to popular belief, toaster tarts and chips are not a meal. "But Mick, they're delicious! They must be good for you!" That's like believing Honey Boo Boo is a
role model.

8. Pick up after yourself on campus. We're all adults here. We should keep our world-class facilities clean.

7. YOLO! Just kidding. Although it is true that you only live once, unless you believe in reincarnation.

Whatever the case, make the most of your time while you're here. Join a club or study abroad. College years are some of the best of your life! (Remember that during finals.)

6. Go to class. It seems like a given but some people have to be reminded that you won't earn your degree lying in bed. You wouldn't buy a car and then leave it sitting on the lot, would you? Why pay for college then not come to class?

5. If you live in one of the near-campus apartments, be a good roommate. Be kind. Be thoughtful. Be yourself. Unless, of course, being "yourself" would make "Jersey Shore" look tame, in which case you might want to work on it a little. Just a suggestion.

4. Slow down in the roundabout, please. Poor Samuel J. Kirkwood doesn't need a Ford Focus parked in his midsection.

3. Need help? Ask an advisor. They're here to help. They're like ninjas, only much nicer.

2. Study. Seriously. Really. Really seriously. I'm serious.

And the number one college success tip:

1. Have a positive attitude. Yes, I know, after this bit of literary genius, you might be thinking, "What a letdown. I really thought I was going to get the answer to all of life's puzzles." But it's the truth. The way you look at the world has a huge impact on your future success.

Positive people follow their dreams by setting goals and accomplishing them. Negative people end up the subject of a Lifetime movie.
