EagleTech provides many services to students, faculty and staff in addition to sales and support found at a typical computer store, according to Julie Copeland, director of retail operations at EagleTech.

“EagleTech is able to offer educational pricing year-round,” said Copeland. “There is no sales tax charged and students are able to utilize their grants, scholarships or financial aid funds.”

The store’s lounge space plays host to special sessions from 11:15 a.m. to noon. The space is usually reserved on Tuesdays for Land and Learn, while most Thursdays it is used for Appy Hour.

“The Land and Learn is our space carved out for educational experiences during the lunch hour. We have a multitude of topics from understanding our new 3D printer to how to use a Lifescribe pen in class,” Copeland said. “Our presenters range from our student staff to faculty on campus to Apple representatives.”

Appy Hour is another resource offered by EagleTech.

“As rush is winding down, we will start up our Appy Hour experiences again. They are housed in our Land and Learn space but are generally a little shorter in time spent,” Copeland noted. “We focus on apps for life, work and play, sometimes discussing new apps or those our student team has highlighted as helpful for school.”

Copeland said she also welcomes ideas from students for future sessions. “We are always open to suggestions for upcoming topics and what our campus wants to know more about,” she said.

EagleTech also provides service and support, as well as sales.

“EagleTech has amazing staff who are Apple certified, understand the needs of the Kirkwood student, do not work on commission and truly care about matching the right device or solution to the student in order to be successful,” Copeland stated. “The store also provides free device setup and will sit down with the student to troubleshoot any concerns they may be having.”

EagleTech’s services can be found at “The Nest,” where help is available from one of their expert Techanics.

“The Nest is our version of the Genius Bar. Customers can bring in their device for simple questions, troubleshooting, etc., get comfy and take a seat as we help you out on the spot,” Copeland said. “Techanics are our Apple Authorized service technicians. This group is also certified to perform triage for Dell, HP and other brands. Typically, no appointment is needed.”

Although the store’s summer discounts have just ended, other promotions are offered throughout the year, she said.

“We often have in-store discounts or promotions aside of what our vendor partnership support,” Copeland explained. “For example, right now, if you purchase an iPad, you can enter to win a free pair of Beats headphones.”

EagleTech is located in the ground floor of Benton Hall, across from the Kirkwood bookstore.
