Music Review

The polka king is back and this time the music is better than ever. His new album “Mandatory Fun” came out and the songs are as clever as they have ever were.

Yankavic parodied songs such as “Royals” by Lorde and “Radioactive” By Imagine Dragons. His polka medley consists of: “Wrecking Ball”, “Pumped Up Kicks” and “Sexy and I Know it”.

Not only was this his final album, it was the first ever comedy album to hit the top of the charts. It was an amazing high note to go out on.

Yankavic said in an interview with Bloomberg BusinessWeek, “A No. 1 album is something I never ... in my wildest dreams ever thought would be a reality”. Yankavic has released albums in past years, with each album having music videos that have done very well. With this album there were amazing music videos as well.

With his song “Tacky” based on the song “Happy” by Pharrel Williams, it has a music video featuring Eric Stone street, Jack Black, Aisha Tyler and many more.

Yankavic has given a breath of air to the music industry and his career. He has been all over the news with his wacky performances, such as his show at the Emmys where he sang The Game of Thrones theme song as well as giving George RR Martin a typewriter, and told him to write more script.

Not only has Yankavic been playing more but his fan base has dramatically increased. Within the last couple of months a petition has come around to have Yankavic play the Super Bowl halftime show.

Whether you’re a fan or not, it seem as though the master of musical comedy is ending his career by giving laughs and making history.
